C
Clerisy of the Discipline: The Clerisy is the theocratic heart of the Empire. At its head, the High Cleric presides over the Discipline itself. Among many other responsibilities, the Clerisy preaches and spreads the Discipline, fights heresy wherever it arises, controls and protects the Anapareesa, and leads the Empire in the stead of an absent Emperor.

The Empire of the Galactic Nucleus and the Spiral Arms: Founded over 5000 years ago, the Empire spans from the dense core of the galaxy all the way to the outer edge although society in the rim is sparse and often primitive. The Nuclear Empire encompasses the entire galaxy with only one notable exception in the Aldebaran Empire which is an enclave situated in and around the Orion Arm. The Empire’s social structure recognizes two classes. The Burghership or nobility is the ruling class. Lords and Ladies of noble houses oversee administrative ressorts and hold powerful government offices. The Citizenry encompasses all other people in the Empire. Citizens are free within the bounds of the Discipline to design their life as fortune allows.
F
Fold Reactor: This technology draws energy from the manipulation of spacetime geometry. Within its core, the fold reactor uses gravity gavels to induce meticulously controlled vibrations on spacetime. The amplitude of these vibrations is increased through constructive interference in the reactor’s resonance chamber. This process releases energy in the form of spacetime distortions that unravel with immense forces.

H
High Cleric of Majora’s Mandate: The head of the Clerisy. A person who becomes High Cleric does so for life and gives up their worldly name entirely. The Cleric presides over all clerical responsibilities. He directs the Clerisy and guides the Emperor along Majora’s path.

K
Kharkun: The Discipline’s name for that part of the afterlife reserved for heretics, non-believers and those who wronged the Sister Goddesses or their Empire. It is described as a place of infinity in all dimensions, both physical and emotional, permeated by soulless darkness through which the essence of suffering flows like a river into the soul-hearts of the enemies of Majora.

L
The Lesser Goddess: Referring to Minora
Little People: A derisive term for citizens of the Aldebaran Empire. This nation is often called “the little Empire” in contrast with the Nuclear Empire. “Little people” refers to people from the “little Empire.”
M
Majora: The Mother Goddess of the Nuclear Empire. She and her sister, the lesser Goddess Minora, created humanity as the Sumptus within the core of the galaxy and imbued Udhain I with the power to found the Empire. Majora and Minora are the deities described by the Udhar Discipline and worshiped by Disciplinarians.

Manifold Engines: Main means of propulsion used throughout the Empire. Manifold engines harness the power of a fold reactor to propel a vessel through the void. Manifold engines come in different configurations, each rated for certain use cases. Most manifold engines are capable of propelling a vessel through the Paralaexon.

Minora: The lesser of the Sister Goddesses. Beyond her involvement with the creation of humanity, Minora is less prominently featured in the Discipline. She is said to have given humans their conscience and moral compass. Minora is worshiped by the Anapareesa as the true Mother Goddess. This heretical cult believes that Minora descended to the world as the Prophetess Ana. Ana’s preachings are recorded in the Anapareesa’s Tome of the World.
N
Nuclear: Relating to the Empire of the Galactic Nucleus and the Spiral Arms; ex: A Nuclear battle fleet

The Sisters / Sister Goddesses: Referring to Majora and Minora

Seneschal: The Seneschal of the Empire functions as the Emperor’s extended right arm. The Seneschal’s office protects the Emperor politically, enforces the Emperor’s guiding hand and keeps the Burghership in line with proper decorum and applicable laws.
Sofer: The Baranis Luger word for ‘ambassador’ and an official title within the Aldebaran Empire.
Sumptus: The state in which the Sister Goddesses created humanity. A collection of vessels housed the first humans, floating aimlessly through the void. Without Udhain I’s leadership and the blessings of the Sisters, humanity could not have survived this state. But instead of perishing, the eternal Nuclear Empire was born from the Sumptus.

U
Udhain: A given name in the Nuclear Empire. Most often refers to Emperor Udhain I, the founder of the Empire.

Udhain I: Founder of the Nuclear Empire and its first Emperor. Udhain served as Emperor until his death. He authored the Udhar Discipline through divine inspiration. He was empowered by Majora and Minora to lead the Sumptus and guide it on a stable course into the future.

Udhar: Belonging to or related to Udhain I or his royal house.

Udhar Norfodl: Capital planet of the Nuclear Empire. The cities of Korslaw and Ormir are located here. The royal palace in Ormir has served as the seat of the Empire since its foundation. Once only named Norfodl, the planet was renamed after other planets took the same name in order to distinguish it as the capital of the Empire. The planet has four continents divided into 17 duchies. Korslaw and Ormir are not part of any duchy and are instead presided over by the Lieutenant Prince of Korslaw and Ormir.
V
Voidspace: Antonym of Paralaexon. Describes normal, ordinary space, as opposed to the Paralaexon which exists beyond.

List of Burgher Houses

  • Udhain: The original noble house and for at least 315 years, the only house of the Burghership. After this time, other noble houses were created by Emperor Udhain III to decentralize the Empire into smaller administrative units. This enabled rapid growth. In the early 4th millennium, the House Udhain was banished from the throne and thrown to the very bottom of the succession order. This was a response to the last Udhar Emperor, Driut, who had thrown the Empire into crisis through madness. Regardless, House Udhain retained its ressort assignments which most notably include the Ministry of Agriculture and the Cryptonic Infrastructure Maintenance Agency.
  • Moltiess: One of the oldest houses, founded in the first millennium. Moltiess Lords and Ladies have historically held both the medical and army ressorts but individual members of the house have been known to rise to extraordinary ranks within the Empire. In most recent history, Iberhardt Moltiess was head of the Board of Crisis Prevention and his son, Elegnon, was elected Seneschal for life. This house owns the star system Poet’s Gulf within which lies the duchy of Chorus and Song, a planet and moon that serve as the seat of House Moltiess.
  • Opiioris: Andurŝ Pieru Opiîoris was a simple salesman when he discovered a star system that would become known as the Crystaleon. The Crystaleon would have been unremarkable if it hadn’t been for immense deposits of silicon on virtually every single celestial body in the entire system. Opiîoris founded a commercial enterprise to exploit this system and eventually achieved wealth beyond compare. His concern built the communication infrastructure of the Empire, including faster-than-light communication. During this time, to aid brand recognition, Opiioris dropped the accent from his name. When he and his family were ascended to Burghership, they were offered to create a new ressort. The Empire was in a state of instability and as such, there was a need for a dissemination service controlled entirely by the Burghership. House Opiioris presides over the Dissemination Service to this day.
  • Joster-Callum: The House Joster-Callum is one of the most powerful in the Empire. This house, as it exists today, is a result of several events. In the second millennium, Lords Joster, Megallen, and Porté Magnast, together with the Ladies Heronne and Vashek, seceded from the House Vennegott to form their own. Lord Joster, who led a party within House Vennegott promoting better military readiness, was chosen to be name-bearer of this new house. This was a planned secession, in accordance with applicable law and with the blessing of the sitting Emperor Gologlex I, also of House Vennegott. Later, in the latter half of the 2nd millennium, a Citizen General called Hector Callum joined the house and was elevated to Burghership for his excellent performance in the second Orion Defense War. Callum, henceforth Lord Callum, came to lead the Imperial Navy for most of his life until he died of an illness. He was posthumously declared a name-bearer for his long and distinguished service.

The Udhar Discipline
I will try to write the actual text of the Discipline here, but for now imagine something very deep and poignant.
